PBMARES NAMES THREE NEW PARTNERS

NEWPORT NEWS, VA (1/6/15) – PBMares, LLP – a regional consulting firm serving clients throughout the Mid-Atlantic – has elected three new partners. 

David J. Damiani, J.D., CPA, a Senior Tax Manager in the firm’s Williamsburg, VA office, Harvey L. Johnson, CPA, CGMA, a Senior Assurance Manager based in PBMares’ Norfolk office, and Nicholas Perrine, CPA, a Senior Tax Manager in the firm’s Harrisonburg, VA office, will become partners, effective January 1, 2015.

Damiani has more than 11 years of public accounting experience, specializing in complex individual tax returns, tax planning, tax research, IRS correspondence and working with high net worth individuals.  His practice addresses estate and trust tax issues as well.  Damiani also assists small business owners with tax planning, preparation and entity advising. He served as the editor-in-chief of the Texas Review of Law & Politics and is currently a member of its Board of Directors.  At the community level, he is the Tidewater Chapter Coordinator for the PKD Foundation. He graduated from Washington & Lee University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Bachelor of Arts in History.  He received his Juris Doctorate, with a focus on tax law, from the University of Texas School of Law. 

Johnson has been providing internal and external assurance services to the firm’s financial institution, not-for-profit, SEC registrant and government clients for more than a decade and serves as the financial institution niche team leader.  He uses his skills and industry knowledge to focus on reporting issues that will have a substantial impact on his clients.  Johnson is a recognized authority in the financial institutions industry and is a frequent presenter at conferences and seminars on topics related to internal controls and risk assessment. Johnson graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a Bachelor Science in Accounting.  He also holds a Master of Science in Accounting from Old Dominion University. 

Perrine has more than 11 years of public accounting experience and specializes in the areas of real estate, healthcare, manufacturing, and construction.  He provides clients with an in-depth knowledge of tax laws and interpretations.  Perrine is a frequent presenter at professional seminars and webinars and is PBMares’ resident expert on the Affordable Care Act.  An active member of his community, Perrine participated in the inaugural class of the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Fredericksburg program.  He also completed the Harrisonburg-Rockingham Chamber of Commerce’s Community Leadership Program and is currently in their BOLD program.  He is a member and current treasurer of the Harrisonburg-Massanutten Rotary Club.  In addition, he has completed the McGladrey Network’s two-year Leadership Academy. Perrine graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting.
