Clark Nexsen earned the Number 20 ranking based on firm’s overall business success, commitment to sustainability, and design excellence

Virginia Beach, VA ─ Clark Nexsen has been ranked the No. 20 leading architecture and design firm in the U.S., according to ARCHITECT Magazine, the official publication of the American Institute of Architects, which annually publishes its Architect 50 list.

Most lists are revenue-based, but the Architect 50 evaluates firms across a broad range of categories. The judges analyzed 160 firm entries — the largest number in the ten-year history of the rankings. Clark Nexsen had strong scores in each of the three main categories: business, sustainability, and design excellence.

“We are both proud and honored by this recognition,” said Clark Nexsen CEO, Chris Stone. “It validates for us that in key areas of practice, we are doing things successfully.”

In addition, the firm has been ranked No. 3 on the Top Business category. The business ranking evaluates firms based on net revenue, profitability, financial commitment to both research and pro bono work, diversity and employee benefits.

“We had a terrific year in 2018,” said Terri Hall, Clark Nexsen President. “We attribute our success to our commitment to provide clients with exceptional design and professional services.”

This is the fifth year Clark Nexsen has made the top 50 on ARCHITECT’s list since the magazine launched the rankings program in 2009.

ARCHITECT magazine is a leading publication in the architecture and engineering Industry. It provides architecture news, market intelligence, business and technology solutions, continuing education, a building products database, and other architecture resources for the practicing architect.

The full list can be found on the ARCHITECT magazine’s website.
